speedometer cuts out

Hi. I'm having trouble with the speedometer on my ford galaxy, keep cutting out. There's no warning it just starts to go up and down then stops all together. All this while i'm driving usually on journeys that mean i'm having to slow down and speed up a lot. I haven't tried to do anything to it as i'm usless and dont want to end up having work done on things that don't need doing.

you need to lubricate or replace the speedo cable. also check the teeth on the gear

the ford galaxy was only produced from 1959 to 1974

dmac - Namsake was re-introduced but not known to me in that year?? Also other OLD Ford names come back now and then like "500"------
Austrailia and some other places continued the nameplates of some not sold here also like "Falcon" is common still. I think that's a Taurus to the US or mostly??
That's all I really get when I Googled out the name??
Who knows unless we are told more specifics?

That is another Ford body that is not sold in the U.S. Sold overseas from here.

If it has OBDII, I'd suspect speed sensor issues; But, being foreign(to U.S.), not sure.
