Yes. If and probably were several things to disconnect to do that that may not be correctly attached now. I don't think the column itself has much to do with the speedometer/odometer which is likely all electric in this so wire hook ups that were touched or hope not pinched could cause issues for sure. If this just happened with a steering column replacement it point to a problem in doing so but coindences do happen. Just curious - why was it replaced? T

Arggh! Seems like someone wanted an airbag. There's no way I can know what was damaged the way that was stolen, what wires got pulled too hard or what. Bummer - I guess a strong cordless "SawsAll" with a blade to cut thru a hardened metal shaft which is hard to believe but I guess possible. Someone has to look at this in person IMO - hope you have insurance. I personally don't know what to say with this type of a repair as I thought all wiring would unplug from the column down lower. If you have a digital dash and features in the wheel the replacement may not have been exact. Perhaps another tech here has an idea for you but I think you need a tech specializing in wiring this properly, T

Is it only the speedometer or does the entire instrument cluster not work? Sucks to be a victim of that one. If you find out who did it and he's in Wisconsin let me know and I'll help you teach him some manners. These dashes have a circuit board in them to control them that is about $370 new. But usually its a $1.25 capacitor that goes out on it. Problem is, I had to go to an electronics genius at a computer shop to find this out so most people end up buying a new dash for a small fortune. But if thats the case it will shut off everything except the lighting when you turn on your headlights.
