hi my car had smoke cumin out of the bonnet & the heater is only blowin out cold air even when the settings were warm. i had problems wit my care b4 & the mechanic said not 2 put water in the car only coolant! do u think this is y the car is bein lik this???

With some reading between the lines it seems you overheated for still an unknown reason and heater won't work while boiling over and can lose coolant.

You need to fix the cause of coolant loss and overheating which could just be a leak. Adding coolant (usually a mix no stronger than 50/50 antifreeze and water unless marked 'premixed' constantly isn't the solution but is just getting you to the next problem.

Need to find and fix the source of the overheat fix and then hope no other damage has occurred,
