Is this an automatic that won't start in PARK but will in Neutral? If so that would be an issue with the neutral safety switch or loose linkage not getting perfectly in position. Standard shift vehicles will need clutch to be depressed to allow starter. Automatics do start but won't shift out of PARK until brake pedal it applied which should be a brake light switch problem usually if that's the case??
