running sluggish Sign In

got a 93 pontiac gramd am se 3.3 liter 170,000 miles

i had a tune up done about a month ago cause the car was running real sluggish, it was still running sluggish so i figure a got a Sh!tty tune up from where i got it so ill never go there again, but i need to know why iys running likr this, if i let the car warm up for a minute it runs a little better, but not much, when i hit the gas in drive it is like i have to keep feathering the gas to get it going it chokes and seem like it wants to die, it has died on me at a stop lite a few times, when the car idles its fine, but as soon as i put it in gear it runs like crap anyone have any ideas ? sholud i change the fuel filter ? i admit i have drove this car way on empty a few times................thanks for ur help DEnnis..........Milwaukee, wi.

Tune ups don't resolve problems. Tune-up is a term that doesn't even apply to today's vehicles. When you have a problem, you get the specific problem diagnosed and repaired accordingly.

You should get the trusty old fuel pressure gauge out of the shed and screw it into the fuel rail to see what your fuel pressure is doing when it is running bad.

Fuel pressure should be around 40-47 psi.
