2003 Cadillac CTS 6 cyl. 3.2 with 63000 miles. The rmp gauge is very sensative and will jump up and than down when driving when the gas is just taped, not sure if this is sign of trouble ahead or anything. Any help be be appreciated.

How much does it jump when you say it jumps up and down? Several hundred? Several thousand? Does it seem like the engine matches its movement?

just a few hundred but drops back right away and i mean just tap so dosnt give time for engine to react. does not do in neutral or park. Also just started now is the gas gauge is not showing true fuel in tank till car has been running for a while or if turned off and back on. Is there a insturment issue happening.

ranges from hundreds and thousands depending how quick the peddle is released. engine seems to react when given and now the gas gauge is not reading correctly. Reads lower than whats in there and will correct itself when given about 5 minutes or turned on and off. Not sure if also there may be a shift problem and if so would this make the rpm gauge do this. dosnt seem to do it in neutral or park.

Just a shot in the dark at this:

These cars are so teched out it's scary but with two reactions and the gas pedal making a difference I'm suspecting as a maybe that grounding for the dash is weak? !!

A harmless test would be to try adding ground from known ground of body to a frame piece of the dash via a common alligator clipped jumper wire. Don't be touching or jumping electrical things but rather just add ground to what should be anyway.

Thought comes from you saying the gas pedal changes things and that little bit might be adding some ground where it is weak and may be able to support extra grounding by itself just a little,
