Don't think a coolant system performance code would cause a rough start. You could monitor coolant temperature to be sure the engine is reaching operating temperature and that the coolant temperature sensor is putting out the correct signal. Could be the thermostat is stuck open if the engine doesn't reach operating temps causing the engine controller to set that code.
