They screw back in with some pressure on the piston to bottom out to make room for the new parts. I had a lot more too say in this reply, about how people should do a little research on what they are about to attempt; especially when it comes to safety related items but I’ll leave it with just this. You should have asked BEFORE you started fooling with your brakes. Dan.
