hey everyone im looking at buying a 1991 honda crx with 160,000 miles at an used car
dealership. i got a carfax report for it and it says it was in an
accident in 1998 and was given a salvaged title. i figured that since
it was 9 years ago and since its in good condition and im only paying
1000 for it, i should go ahead and buy it. is this a good decision?

At that age unless you are a collector of this vehicle it doesn't matter much more. An accident from 1998 must have been fixed well or it probably wouldn't be around now. At some point and at some price range you have to just consider the condition of the vehicle in front of you. Heck you could drop 1,000 bucks on a repair or two in no time. For newer cars the salvage title is a death sentence to its value. I would verify that this car is legal to operate where you live. They are here but it excuses the manu from recalls and in an insurance claim you would get docked points in value but not at that age, T
