question about 92 grand am

my other question below this one on the grand am/ oldsmobile swap. the grand am has a 2.3l quad 4 that does not run. it cranks but it will not start. i've checked timing, not that. i've checked the fuel system, not that. i've checked spark plugs and distributor, not that. it sounds like it's trying to fire on the exuhst side and it cranks real slow. i even had it hooked up to my 4.3 vortec to try to jump start it but it would not crank. checked what fuse's i could find inside the car but couldn't find a fuse relay box under the hood. anyone know what to look for and what might be my problem. i've tried everything i could think of except the computer which i'm going to check soon. if i still cant get it running i want to do the engine swap listed below. any help would be good.go check the other one too if you can help let me know. email me at ga_fisherman_2000@yahoo.com. thanks
