My daughter's car got broken into from the rear passenger side window which is a power window. After calling a few places we found a great deal,175.00 dollars for the window and installation l at an auto trim place.But after they went in to do the job they told us that the window motor wasn't working probably do to the impact caused by the break in (it worked perfectly before) We had no choice but to agree to a new motor,which brought us to a bill totaling 325.00 dollars.
After the installation was finished, they told us that we would probably hear some glass noise when powering the window do to the fact it still would be small particles of glass left inside the door. My question is this, If a motor is replaced how can there be glass left in there? Wouldn't the glass be cleaned out and gone given the new motor? Or maybe the motor was never changed in the first place. Help

Shouldn't matter much but what kind of car? I smell big fish with that story so far. The motor itself shouldn't get glass bits in it at all. Broken glass other that windshields turn to little pebbles and can be cleaned out of track guttering and what fall to bottom of the door. It's just lazy to leave it there.
Where's the old motor? You should have that and test it youself. Off car they'll run with jumper wire and a 9v little household battery!
