hey all,

I have a 1991 subaru legacy L all wheel drive automatic. I bought it earlier this year and had a mechanic check it before buying it, they said it was in great condition with excellent axles (they had been replaced recently) and that the only problem they could find was that my struts where leaking and that I should get them replaced. So I have yet to do this, but will do it soon, in the meantime however I have noticed an odd "banging" noise, its very quite ( i only notice it with all the windows up and no radio) and starts around 15 mph the speed at which it repeats increases as I go faster, and it doesn't change when the gears shift. I recently took off and put on all of my tires to check the brakes (they were fine) and I tightened all the nuts fairly tight (so I don't think its the tires). I'm not sure if it is something that has to do with the struts or something else (and should I really be worried). Any suggestions?

Also, it seems to go away when I am pushing on the gas pedal, but comes right back when I let off.
