have a 1996 chevy monte carlo hearing this noise only when pushing on gas peddal, could this be water pump if it could be water pump how can I tell are their any other symptons that would prove to be water pump the noise is like a squeeling but not a high piyched squeeling

there are several other things you need to eliminate before you can jump to the water pump. how many miles you have on the car?
youll have to describe the noise the best you can.
is it a rubbery squeaking like from the belt?
is it a metallic chirping like from a bearing?
water pumps usually start leaking when there going bad. or the bearing starts to go. remove the fan belt and spin the water pump bearing listen for noise. also grab the pull and pull/wiggle it to see if there is any movement in the bearing.
