my diesal light is not coming on and the oil light keeps flashing soon as i start the van and also it takes ages to start?? i have a seat inca van,please could anyone help,thankyou

Just a guess......most times when having trouble starting a diesel and the ready light involved, its a sign that the glow plugs are about gone.....in any case they should be replaced every 2 to 3 years, and ignoring them could cause damage to the engine,and costly repairs.....when they wear out pieces falls off on to the piston.
