nissan 720 Sign In

I have a nissan 720 2.4i it runs for 5 min or so them it dies out. checked the fuel pump and change the fuel filter. when it dies it will not restart crank only. let it set or 2 to 3 hours and them it might start up. if it starts up it will run for 2 to 5 min and then the same thing. so i check the coils after it dies there is no spark from the coils. so i replace them and the mods and the distrbutor. checked it the same thing runs then dies. what for 2 to 3 hours starts up. can some one please help thank you.

Test for injector pulse using a small bulb called a noid light. If none found, check for power supply at one side of the injector with the key on.

Re: nissan 720 Sign In

so the Fuel Injectors will make it stall out. it dose sound like is runing out of gas. Plus the fuel Injectors will make the coils have no spark

Re: nissan 720 Sign In

He's not saying that at all. The injectors have no control over your spark. You could take them off the car and crank it over and still have spark. But there has to be proper signals from other sensors to make the PCM signal the coils and injectors to fire. By checking for power and pulse you are giving a direction to take the diagnosis instead of throwing hundreds of dollars of parts into it to still have a broken down car.

Re: nissan 720 Sign In

The injector isn't causing anything. It merely shares some signals with the spark that we need to know if are present or not.

Re: nissan 720 Sign In

The most logical cause of the problem would be the Power transistor which serves as an ignition control module. Of course this should be professionally diagnosed to be sure. It's mounted next to the coil.

I'm assuming you have verified power supply to the + side of the coil with the key on.

Re: nissan 720 Sign In

You can also do a bypass test at the igniter trigger circuit with your test lamp and a spark tester at the end of the coil wire. Bypass test will tell you if the module is good as long as the coil is good and you have power and ground at the igniter. If you can get it to spark by doing a bypass test on the igniter trigger circuit, you need to look at ECU position sensor input problems.
