What is the battery voltage? Have you tried boosting the truck? Just because things like the radio and lights work doesn’t mean there is enough voltage to turn the starter. The lights and radio may draw 30 or so amps combined but a starter circuit wants an initial 300 amp to get it moving.

1. check battery voltage as already stated above. Try jumper cables/battery charger on START. If it starts, check the battery/alternator/voltage regulator.
2. try bypassing the starter solenoid (only if you know how to safely do so, as the current is high and shorting either post to ground can be dangerous). If it starts, replace the solenoid.
3. check the starter itself by (safely) connecting a battery that's known good to it and ground (the vehicle frame). If the starter doesn't spin, replace it.

Connect a test light to the neg. battery post and put the tip on the small wire at the starter solenoid. Have an assistant turn the key to crank. If the light is bright in crank, replace starter motor. The solenoid is included with the new starter.

I'm not sure exactly what your problem is, but i would doubt that it is the battery being low, because you would prolly hear repeating clicks. If your truck is a standard, i would almost bet on it that it's your neutral switch in the clutch. I would advise that when starting, if it doesn't do anything, just try poppin the clutch and then turn the ignition again. repeat this process until it turns over. It shouldn't take more than a couple tries. I had this problem in my 91 s10. If you have an automatic, there's a possibility that your truck isn't in gear all the way. Just tryin wiggling the shifter a lil, and it should start up for you.
Best of luck to you.
