i have a 97 taurus gl wagon that all of the sudden stopped shifting right heres what happens.in park and neutral the car is fine but when you put it in reverse or in drive the radio stops working the power windows stop as well also the power steering stops working to and to top it off the transmission wont shift what is the problem i was thinking some sort of relay maybe

That's a lot of problems all at once. I can't think of one cause for all that at once. Questions: * Did this all happen at the same time? * Does the engine start and run properly? Folks are here to assist but this is a strange problem, T

DanD had one of these a few weeks ago. It turned out to be the transmission range switch (gear selector switch). Steve

Yep. The kicker to remember on the TR sensor is if the accessories work in park and go out in drive or reverse. Ford runs a lot of the wiring inside the car through this sensor. Who knows why. Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds

yeah the engine runs great and starts fine and it doesnt happen all the time but it happens alot more frequently now and yeah it all happens at once as soon as it is put in gear everything quits
