my car makes a rattle noise when i accelerate Sign In

can anyone help me i dont know much about cars but when i accelerate in my car i hear a rattle the rattles not there when im stopped, i took my car to get repair about 2 months ago and mechanic told me it was water pump but now i think hes wrong because pump was replaced the moise went away for awhile but now its back....can anyone help me

A water pump itself may or may not make a noise to need replacement so that's inconclusive.

The pulleys and belt in the system may be at fault and should be checked. Taking belt off and spinning each item can help locate a bad one. Sometimes belt itself and worn pulley surfaces create strange noises. Spraying WD-40 on the belt and then problem solved for a short while can show that and a belt replacement usually solves it, if so. Also exhaust parts can make noises in certain conditions with loose or rusted parts,

try a higher grade gasoline u may be hearing a labor knock from engine
