Shocked The mass air flow sensor basicly measures the amount of air comming into the engine and tells the computer how much fuel to add. Why do you think this is what is wrong? these are pretty expensive to replace. They are very easy to replace though.

I had Auto Zone read the codes for me. They had one for around $100.

Re: mass air flo Sign In

What is the year, make, model, and engine size please? Also what are the code numbers autozone pulled from the computer? The code is not always the componet it points to. Was it a P0171 or P0174 by any chance?

Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds

I didn't get the codes. It is a 2001 Chevy Blazer. It is a 6 cyl., that is all I know. The engine light comes and goes. I want to sell the car, and thought I better get this fixed first.

Most of the time a dirty air flter can allow enough dirt to pass and get the MAS dirty. You can try to clean the wire with brake cleaner, this will only work if the wire is obviously dirty. If you try this be very careful it is very delicate.
Does it have a K&N airfilter??
