low coolant indicator Sign In

My 2000 jeep laredo has the low coolant indicator light on and the heater isn't necessarily as hot as it should be. My husband has checked the antifreeze level and it is not low. The temp gauge is not running high, it stays at or below 210. This has been going on for 3 days but is not overheating. Sensor or what???

Re: low coolant indicator Sign In

Low coolant sensor is likely on the tank of the radiator itself. The reservoir where you check coolant can be in normal range and the radiator itself is low. Likely with your symptoms so check both. This is probably an indication of more wrong than just low coolant and the reason why is the next issue right away. If the pressure cap is on the radiator the cap itself could be the problem. Monitor this and don't let it run low if at all possible,
