leaky radiator 79 f350 Sign In

so i go out to get my truck warmed up so i can go to an equipment auction, i hook up my trailer in hopes to bring home a couple new toys i look back and see the leak starting so i put a teaspoon of pepper in it and it slows to a drip.... ok a temporary fix until after i get my new toys, but then it starts again.... i get some bars leak and put it in it slows to a drip..... and once again it comes back.. so i managed to find the leak, i got the rad out and on a bench. as i look at where the leak was i find that its actually where the seem on the top tank has some corrosion and a thin 1.5 inch long crack.... so now i got it right???? my question is this. can i solder this up or does it need to be brazed... what do you think my best option would be

If it's where the tank and the header were originally soldered, I would think that would work. If the tank, itself, is cracked, probably brazing would be best. Seems that it would be a very simple operation for a radiator shop.

Find a radiator shop as Loren suggested. They can acid dunk the whole radiator so it will solder/braze up nicely and paint it black again for you.

Look hard for a radiator repair place. Most have gone out of biz with the new crap not being so fixable and replacments close to the "recore" jobs of years past,
