hi i've got an ldv pilot van with a 1900 diesal peugeot engine XUD9A last week when i stopped the fans kept on for about 5 minutes when i investigated there was a slight leak in one of the hoses near the thermostat housing and quite damp round it i've repaired the hose but as soon as you turn the ignition on and start the engine if its been running about a minute the fans kick in then when you turn the engine off they stop on for about 5 minutes i've unplugged the COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR from the top of the thermostat plug and i have noticed there is no live going to the plug can anybody help or advise also i've started it a day ago and its got a slight diesal knock any help please

We are limited in our advice as all of our advisors are either american or canadian. Your vehicle isn't sold here so we have no access to specific data for it. First off, don't unplug anything. Its supposed to be plugged in. Thats why there is a plug for it. You're overheating from that coolant leak and now have a knock in the motor which is bad news. You said you have "No live going to the plug," do you mean no power to the glow plugs? I think you need a pro to look at this to see how much damage is done.
