judder through the brake pedal when braking

i have a 1998 1.4 vauxhall tigra.
the problem i have, is when i brake from say 30mph, there is a judder through the brake pedal. not sure what it is, heard about possible abs, though it has just been mot'd so dont expect there to be any disc or pad probs. any help with this?

you could have warped rotors, which wouldn't be visibly noticed by someone doing an inspection that didn't drive the car.
