jeep lost power for 1hr

My dad had trouble with his Jeep this morning he said he was driving along and the car lurched forward twice then it lost power. He only had power for the radio and lights no power for the engine. The car started 1hr later. Thoughts?

Hi
At what speed was he driving?
When you say he lost power, I assume from your post he lost electrical power..correct?...
Did it stall out?
Did any warning lights come on prior?
When it didn't start,did it crank ?
Once it restarted,did it run ok?? any warning lights??
what year and model jeep?
what size engine?
I know lots of questions,just trying for myself and the others to better understand whats going on here...
