Unless you have a whole lot more information we have to resort to the crystal ball. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Do you mean that the compressor clutch has current when cranking the engine, but goes away when the engine is running? How many amps do you have at the compressor since you are measuring current. Using an amp clamp or did you wire your amp meter in line to measure the amount of current the field coil uses? Need more information instead of these one liners. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

We're going to need high and low pressure readings at startup and just before it shuts off.
