i read your post in the engine troubles section but was unable to post a reply there.
if i remember correctly-used to have a lot of fords coming into the shop with the same stalling out concern.
replaced a lot of the distributor magnetic pickups for this.
(think ford calls it a stator).used to replace the stator and reluctor .
also did occasionally find a bad TFI (thick film intregrated)
ignition module.(module on side of distributor as tom stated).

If you would pick a name in your registration you would be able to reply anywhere that you can read at this forum. I don't know what went wrong with that.
