i need help with struts

i have a 2000 old's alero and when i turn my wheel sharp the strut thumps and then it will pull the way i turned . then when i jacked up the car and took the tire off i could move the spring with my hands. my question is how can i fix that?

Hmmmm. Shouldn't be able to move the spring by hand. I'd inspect the spring carefully. It's rare, but they can break. And that would sure cause your symptoms.
