i have a 92 gmc s15 jimmy blazer 4.3 v6 4wd and i was wondering how to change the oil cooler gaskets and o rings. the oil cooler sits up between the oil pan and block with the transfercase right next to it. the oil looks like it is leaking from between the cooler and the oil line bracket, the guy at autozone told me that it was probably one of the o rings on one of the lines making it look like it was leaking from between the bracket. i want to know if i have to pull the motor or not and if i have to take the cooler comlpetly off to get the lines out of the cooler because of clearance problems or not, and do i have to drain all the oil out of the pan before i start or will i get a face full when i take the lines out. and is there any little bearings or springs or anything else that will fall out when i take them out. very discusted lpz help!!!

This is a very common problem on the 4.3s. Yes, you can do it without pulling the engine. You will need to disconnect the cooling lines from the adapter that attaches to the block, first. Some use quick-disconnect type fittings. (quick disconnect is sometimes an oxy-moron) Suggestion: If it does use that type, I'd recommend replacing both fittings while you have the adapter off. And, no, you won't get a face full of oil. (depending on where you have your face at the time of removal). Just whatever is left in the connections. Messy, oily job, but not rocket science. Torque2004 did you get your Jimmy fixed. I have a 1997 4.3 jimmy doing the same thing. I was wondering if it was very hard to do or not. How much was the parts to fix it if you dont mind sharing. Thanks
