how hard would it be to replace head gasket on a 90 eclipse Sign In

we found a 90 eclipse with a blown head gasket this car is a standard automatic , just wondering the maintenace involved to fix it.

For a silly gasket this is an involved job. At its age you may deal with broken bolts nuts and still have to send the head(s) out for inspection as shops do too to see if there is warpage.

Not a good DIY job, T

so youd wanna send the car to a auto tech rather than do it yourself that would be pretty pricy wouldnt it

 You can do this if you want and have the tools. I suggest getting all info from perhaps AllData.com for torque specs and procedures.

It is a pricy job but the shops have to have all this data themselves and still send the head out to a machine shop. If there's a problem with the head they usually have to buy a used one and rebuild it.

Like I said-- Not a good DIY job. This job is pricy because it's time consuming. It could cost about $1,200 or so to get done. More or less where you live, T
