hood release cable

1992 chrysler new yorker 5th avenue
v6
278,000 mi
hood latch cable busted.
cannot open hood.
pull on broken cable with pliers and cable keeps breaking off but the hood latch does not release
help

It's not usually easy but you should be able to trip it open with loooong screwdriver from underneath or get creative thru grille at just the part that the cable would have pulled - prying on it or whatever works. It wasn't intended to be easy.
Put a temp wire on that when done to re open later till you get a new cable,
