i have a 2004 nissan murano with a 3.5L cvt trans, it only has 86000 miles but has had a bogging problem upon acceleration from a stop. mil light came on about 3 months ago, took it to my mechanic and he said it was a cracked converter b1 sent pieces into the rear cat. converter clogging exhaust. while saving up the money it started to make a loud rattling and vibration sound upon accel. at low rpm's figured it was just the converter getting worse. so finally got the money and replaced it $2000 out of pocket. now my mil light is off but still have the bogging and rattling, my mechanic tells me the rattling is coming from a pulley thats where he could hear the sound the loudest but doesn't know about the bogging obviously a pulley isn't going to cause a shifting issue. Can anyone help? greatly appreciated.

trent; Have him recheck the backpressure. May be way off, here, but I've seen those chunks work their way all of the way back to the muffler. It could be plugged, too. I would think that you'd be getting a lean code if the fuel filter was plugged enough to cause this problem, but worth a check, also. As far as the pulley rattling, you could remove the serpentine belt and run the engine just long enough to see if the noise is still there. If it's not, then check all of the pulleys, including the harmonic balancer and water pump. If the noise is still there, you've just eliminated the belt driven parts.
