i have a 2000 chevy cavailer that was over heating i changed the themostat my car wont start i checked the water and it smells like gas i need help please i also checked if i was getting gas and i'm not

The water smells like gas?
I have no idea what you did there. Make sure all wiring plugs have to plugged back in.
