That sounds a bit odd. The 2 killers for warranty are abuse or lack of maintance... If some how the wreck was the cause then it seems like the insurance would kick in... I would suggest trying a different dealer for a second opinion......... Sometimes, the car maker will actually be on your side and contact the dealer to tell them to FIX IT. Worth a try.
