heater doesn't work

I have a 1999 Pontiac grand am and the heater does not work. We have replaced the blower motor and the resistor twice within the past 6 months. The last time we replaced it all it was December 3rd and it all worked fine and this morning we went out to start it and it doesn't work at all. Any suggestions on why this keeps happening or what the problem is?

?? By any chance did you test the blower motor to really be bad? There must be a dependable ground which may be a problem but I can't see that burning out these parts so fast. Also - when the blower did work did you get an ample supply of air output?

We didn't test the blower motor. Before we changed anything the blower worked on 3,4,5. The first time we changed everything it worked on all levels but made a squealing noise for a little bit when 1st turned on and the last time we changed them it worked on all but 5. We don't think the blower motor is bad, we believe it is either the resistor or an electrical problem(the wiring)....The 1st time we replaced the resistor it was almost broke into 2 pieces but this last time the resistor looked good.

Possibly the first bad motor really strained to turn and really overheated the resistor. If that motor was tight or even the replacement again I suspect it's struggling to blow air and hard on the whole show. When highest speed is the only that doesn't work it confuses me unless the selector switch is also burned. Power should be full force voltage on High and gets cut down for the lower speed.
I'm surprised that any lower speeds work with the high missing. I don't know if this uses a fusable link but may be partially burned out.
Gotta go right now and I'll be thinking of some ideas for this,

We kinda figured out what the problem is.....water is getting into the blower motor but we don't know where the water could be coming from. It is not antifreeze because it freezes and it doesn't smell like antifreeze. Do you know where the water could be coming from? Thank You for all your help!!!

I've had several fun times with water getting where it shouldn't. Many times it's from the seal on the windshield. If you can get this car deiced and dry, what I do is put painter's tape all around the windshield - glass over the seal to paint which eliminates the seal as a possible source and let it get wet again. If it completely stops the problem I let auto-glass specialty shops seal it up knowing what I did that worked. Aftermarket glass sometimes doesn't fit well or any replacement along the way can be a source of the failure - even some new cars have had leaks. Auto Glass is more and more of a specialty ever growing,
