hazard flashers Sign In

2003 chevy express 3500 6.0

when I put my hazard flashers on sometimes they work sometimes they dont. I can get them to work if I put a blinker on, then the hazard lights on next they will work. I dont think the van has a flasher but some kind of module. If some one can tell me exactly what it is called and where it is located on the car would be appreciated.

Flasher cans and module should will be under the hood in your fuse box. Take the lid off the box and find on the lid it will give you the run down of what everything is.

HAZARD AND TURN SIGNAL FLASHER REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

  1. Remove the left knee bolster bracket.
  2. Remove the turn / hazard flasher (2) from the Instrument Panel (I/P) Support.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector (1).
  4. Remove the turn / hazard flasher (2).

Another possibility could be the Turn signal/multifunction switch.

Re: hazard flashers Sign In

The knee bolster is the lower panel that mounts to the instrument panel about at the level of the knee.

Here is a pic...hope it helps...

  1. Remove the bolts (2) from the lower edge of the instrument panel (I/P) driver knee bolster panel (1).
  2. Pull the I/P driver knee bolster panel (1) towards the rear of the vehicle in order to disengage the retainers.
  3. Remove the I/P driver knee bolster panel (1) from the vehicle.
  4. Inspect the I/P driver knee bolster panel (1) for broken or missing retainers. Replace the retainers as needed.
