Is there a difference between fiberglass handles & wood handles on body hammers? I was looking at these two sets and was trying to decide which one to get. I was told that fiberglass hammers absorb energy better then wooden. If this is true, does that make them better?

Interesting. I'll just suggest that if you are buying this online to go for the fiberglass. Wood needs to be carefully selected and positioned for strength. I alway go thru a bunch of them and look at the grain to decide if that one will be good or not - that with assorted wood handled anythings out there.

Of interest: I'm into antiques and there's a wild difference in "old" vs "new" growth woods. Another is the proximity to the center of the tree it was taken from. Ex: If you make a dowel from the ouside lumber it will break easily vs a center peice. Further interest if I have some antique bowls of one piece of wood from the 1600s to early 1700s from an exact choice section of the tree such they they won't split and haven't!
