got gas yesterday...	Sign In

Yesterday I got gas, and my car immediately started idiling funny...dropping very low then going up and down slightly, as if trying to stay where it should be. I drove home, then went somewhere this morning (no more than 10 miles, I'd say). When I started my car again, it Idled low...let me pull out of my parking space, then died. It will not turn over now. Could this be from the gas? Any suggestions?

Do you mean that the starter motor is not cranking the engine?
Or do you mean the engine is being cranked but not starting?

It very well could be contaminated fuel but you’re going to have to begin with checking all the basics. As in ignition spark getting to all cylinders, fuel pressure from the pump and whether the computer is pulsing the fuel injectors.
After that and you still suspect bad fuel you may need to take a sample of fuel and let it sit in a clear container, see if it looks cloudy or if the fuel and whatever contaminate separates.
Call or go and see the people you bought the fuel from; ask if they’ve received complaints from other customers. If the fuel came from a name brand outfit you’d be surprised at what they’ll do to help you.
