I'm looking to buy a new manual 1982 f-150 and they say it runs fine but just needs a little gas when you start it up, is this a quick easy fix like I think it is or could I be in a world of hurt?

Could be weak pump , clogged filter ,bad fuel pressure regulator , faulty wireing or ECM . There is prob a reason they are not fixing a little problem in order to get top dollar. See if you can get them to fix it , BEFORE the sale. LIFE'S SHORT GO FISH

bootscoot: What engine is in this and was it for Calif emissions, Canada or any more info? There were a zillion different carbs used in the popular engines sold for this. When you say "giving it a little gas" does that mean you have to put some down carb to get this going? Chokes, choke heaters and adjustments are critical. As R-T said - get this fixed pre-purchase as a whole carb if needed is pricey but not the world. Troubles with early to mid 80s last carbs were a total headache IMO, T
