fuel pump 02 suburban

Can anyone help I have an 02 suburban 1500 4x4 5.3. while I was driving the truck shut off and turns but wont start. we checked and the fuel pump isnt coming on. So we checked the relay and isn't the relay. So we replaced the fuel pump and before putting the tank back up we checked to see if it was working and the pump still isnt kicking on. ........ What else could it be????????

When and how are you checking this?

well we switched the relay out, and replaced the fuel pump with a new one.... any recommendations on how else we can check it????

we turn the car on and the pump isn't coming on and the fuel gauge is still reading empty.

So you have never even checked for power arriving at the pump before replacing it? You might want to do that before throwing any more parts at it.

yes we do!!! we were having trouble finding the fuel pump fuse but we checked the relay and the ground wire seemed to be intact also the gray wire going to the relay seemed to be intact.

Nowhere in that response did you say that you tested for power arriving at the fuel pump.
