only gone and done stupidest of things...put diesel in petrol engine, coz it not much (50p worth) guy at garage said it be fine! but on way back from journey had flashing fuel feed/ignition warning light come on and car losing power!!!! HELP!! is the diesel the cause or coincidence??

This is trouble! You have to get all the fuel out! It may take some time but it should be fine. I would in this case use some fuel solvents/cleaners and new fuel filter and maybe another one soon. Good luck, stuff happens, T
