fan blowers Sign In

i have a 1999 jeep wrangler the fan blowers quit working i have no fire where the fuse is on either side of the prongs thanx frank

Have you checked both fuses?

fuse #8 10amp under dash

fuse #11 40amp in the engine compartment

WE DO HAVE FIRE AY ALL FUSES THEY ARE ALL GOOD I REMOVED THE BLOWER FROM THE VEHICLE AN RAN A HOT WIRE TO IT WORKS FINE I ALSO CHECKED THE TWO WIRES COMING TO THE FAN ONE HAS FIRE AND ONE DOESNT I PLUGGED IT BACK IN BUT IT STILL DOESNT WORK THANX FRANK

Only one wire is supposed to have power at the motor. the other one is ground and appears to be the source of your problem.

The speeds are controlled from the ground side through the resister and the speed switch. The blower resister is the most common failure.

I REPLACED THE BLOWER RESISTOR AND THE FAN STILL DOES NOT COME ON ANY MORE IDEAS PLEASE IS THERE A WAY TO CHECK THE BLOWER RESISTOR THANX FRANK

Of course there is. We don't throw parts at anything without testing first. You have to follow the wiring diagram with a test light that can indicate either power or ground. Make sure you actually have power arriving at the motor.

HAMMERTIME I RAN A GROUND WIRE OFF THE GROUND SIDE OF THE FAN AND IT CAME ON BUT IS AT FULL SPEED AND DOESNT GO ON OR OFF WITH THE SPEED SELECTOR U TURN THE BLOWERS OFF AND U STILL HAVE FIRE TO THE FANTHANKS FRANK

That's what we thought in the first place. The switch and the resister control the speeds by running the ground to various resisters.
You need to be able to test whether the switch is sending ground to the resister at the various wires.

The wire colors for the various speeds are

1 tan
2 Lt Green with Lt Blue
3 Lt Blue
4 Brown with tan

The switch will send ground on that wire when that speed is selected

HAMMER I UNPLUGGED THE RESISTOR AND CHECKED THE WIRES FOR GROND WITH A LIGHT TESTOR I HA D NO GROUNG COMING FROM THE BLOWER SWITCH THANX FRANK

Make sure the blower switch itself has a good ground input on the black wires. There are 2 of them.
