2001 Pontiac Grand Prix
With a full tank of gas there is a strong oder of gas and exhaust in the passenger compartment. When the car gets to about a half tank, the symptom disappears. We're in the desert and it's HOT. Could this have siomething to do with the evap canister?

YES. Check that the gas cap is exactly proper for the car as a possible easy fix,
