when trying to remove the emergency brake cable from the left rear caliper, my repair guide says to remove retaining clip to remove cable from caliper. It points to clip in picture but very vague. It says to pry off with screwdriver This clip looks like a ring with no separation it does not pry off . my question is if i cut this clip off does the new caliper come with a new cable clip =does it come off some other way-will i have buy a new brake cable ??? thanks for any help B.M.W.

This might be a better picture. It is just an "e" clip that holds the cable in place. I don't think a new one comes with the new, but they are really cheap and easily found in parts houses. If you place a screwdriver in the open spaces and gently twist, the clip will come out.

Well i didn't find a clip the problem was that it was rusted into the caliper. I had to cut the cable to get the caliper out, lucky it was the driver's side e-cable {$25.00}. No new clip with cable, but was cheap and installation was easy with new e-cable. replaced caliper on passenger side this one had a clip and came off easy. Thanks for your help b.m.w

Thanks for the follow up. We like the feedback so we know what the fix was. Nice job staying with it. Good luck and stop by to say hi occasionally.
