electric windows on 93 ford explorer

hey whats up guys i got a problem with my crazy electric windows on a 93 ford explorer they go down but they wont go up without help i gotta pull up while hitting the switch i can hear the motor running but something not working i took off the door panel and the motor is riveted in and there is some sort of cable at the top of the motor it looks like it has an adjustment nut on it can i adjust it a buddy told me to pull the motor and grease it will that help any help would be most appreciated or if someone can point me in the right direction i would be most gratefull well thanks bye

Without seeing it, it’s hard to say but if its of a cable design you maybe into replacing what is called the regulator. The regulator is a set of brackets, guides and pulleys that pull the window up and down. The cable can become frayed and then start cutting into the plastic guides and pulleys putting too much strain on the motor.
You can try lubing everything and anything you see that moves but I think you’re going to end up drilling out the rivets and removing the motor and regulator assembly to find the cause.

thanks for the info dan im going to drill out the rivets and see what happens ill let you know
