I bought the car not to long ago and found the engine light coming on after 35 mile the trip home giving me a egr vault after some advice I replaced the valve but still am getting the same code[/email]

A code 26 is a Quad Driver fault. Why would you replace an EGR valve? A shorted or open solenoid, relay or bulb, can cause a code 26. Did you get a code 32 at any time? There is a specific flow chart for diagnosing this code. Not a case of 'replacing' parts. Could even end up being the PCM, itself.

yea it first give me the 32 code which is the egr code but now is coming up with the 26 code which is for the quad driver output fault .that part i really not know anything about it.what and were is it thank you

The code 26 is not an easy code to figure out at all. The quad drivers are the grounding transistors in the computer that operate all to actuators that the computer controls. The code is telling you that one of the actuators is overloading the circuit and now you have to figure out which one is at fault. To make it harder, the problem could be intermittent and only show up occasionally.

No, it doesn't.
This is not an answer your going to find online anywhere. The only solution to this problem is some intense testing by a very knowledgeable electrical tech.

well since you had a code 32 also I would check resistance of the egr solenoid.It should be between 37-44 ohms plus or minus 10 ohms.this quad driver controls egr solenoid/evap canister purge solenoid/coolant fan relay/a/c relay but since you had a egr code I would check resistance of egr solenoid or you could disconnect egr solenoid and drive car first clear codes and see if you get a code 32 and not a code 26....if that is the case then I would replace the egr solenoid and clear code and drive car and see if any codes return.The best way is to check current draw on all circuits affected by the driver.if output is too much it will shut down the 1 component until the computer reaches its internal limit and then may shut down all 4 components.You state when car reaches normal operating temp the light comes on......does your coolant fan operate or car temp rises?

ok this is what i found the egr solenoid has no ohms going through it and 14 volt at the plug to it.the temp gauge works.when i turn the key to start the fan works.i just haven't got it hot enough to have the fan run. it runs between 1/4-1/2 on the heat gauge

if zero ohms then you have a open in the egr solenoid which would cause a code 26 and code 32.replace egr solenoid.
