dodge dakota ticks

when i start my truck the engine has a ticking sound for about a minute then it goes away. wondering if it is a bad plug, a lifter sticking or bad gas. |

If it is a slight tick, it could be a lifter hanging. You could try running a quart of treansmission fluid along with the oil to see if it frees it up and clears the noise up. One quart will not hurt the engine. It acts as a good cleaning agent.
