dana 44 rearend rebuild ????????? Sign In

I'm in the middle of rebuilding a dana 44 out of a scout II. I had to replace the pinion gear and ring gear due to damage. So I can't use the origanel shims as a decent refrence, they don't work already tried. This is only my second time reduilding a rearend and I'm having issues. I have my pinion preload set but when I install the third member and tighten down the caps I can't turn the pinion shaft. Pinion shaft depth not right ?????? I changed it by .050 and the same result. moved the ring gear to the left by .020 still no movement. Help!!!!!!!!!
