I need to have the AC Condenser and radiator replaced as well as the front bumper cover and front side fenders. Our insurance has only authorized the use of after market replacement parts, but they guarantee the parts for as long as i own the car. You may want to contact the state agency that moniters the insurance companies and ask them your options. But if the parts are warrantied as long as you own the car, you really have nothing to lose. It would work without a new one but expect earlier A/C failures and or less than optimal performance.
