clutch problems	Sign In

just put a new clutch and slave cylinder in a 92 toyota previa. cannot get the vehicle in gear when it is running. can start it in gear and change gears without the clutch but the clutch is not activating. arm is moving on transmission when clutch is depressed, bled the line, pumped the clutch for 10 mins. any suggestions would be appreciated. Try adjusting the clutch pedal. Sometimes ( at least its happened on my mazda ) the bolts and slides on the pedal slip with all the pumping when bleeding the lines and it will keep the slave from pulling completely away from the pressure plate and shifting properly.

forgot to put that we tried that as well. everything seems to be moving when I press the clutch, but nothing. If the thrower bearing is not on right, the tranny wouldnt have gone on right would it? thanks for responding.

As far as I know, yes. But, since I'm no mechanic, I couldn't say for sure.

Are you getting solid pressure on the clutch pedal at all? Any kind of resistance during the bleeding phase ? If not, then its probably one of the clutch lines that has a pinhole in it, or something wasn't tightened down all the way during replacement. Other than that... I've not a clue. Maybe one of the other guys can help later on tonight or tommorow.
