clicking noise only when accelerating Sign In

There is a clicking noise coming from under hood of my 2003 Dodge Durango 5.9l v8 real 2 wheel drive truck when driving. The noise only comes when I am acclerating, no clicking when car is crusing or when parked and applying pedal only when on street accelerating. Does anyone have any ideas as to what this could be? Thanks

Those Dodges are real common for exhaust leaks on the left bank. At 1st it's only noticable under load and get worse as the leak gets bigger....

Have some one power brk the engine and look & listen to the manifold on bank 1 to see if you can hear a leak.

Use all care & caution because the truck will be running in drive.......

If it is an exhaust leak shouldn't I hear it when the vehicle is at idle or when the engine is revved in park.

When they they get real bad you'll hear it all the time but on some I've noticed in the early stages you really only notice it under acceleration... Also for some reason the back bolt alwasy seems to be broken....

This is just a guess and it could be something else but I would definitely check it out.........
